Flamenco Guitar
Reaching for an authentic flamenco sound, I use Spanish cypress for the back and sides and cedar for the top. The top, with its light asymmetrical 8 bar fan-bracing, gives the instrument its characteristic bright, crisp sound and fast attack.
As a standard, I use the traditional friction pegs but can also mount classical tuning machines. The body is the same size as my classical guitar but about 5 mm thinner. A low bridge and string height, together with a clear acetate tap plate, complete this traditional flamenco guitar.
